It’s just about the end of March (…can you believe it! ) and something rather special has just arrived at the front door for the sausages Ollie & Penny. It’s their Pawfection Pack straight from their pals in the UK – thanks Annie, Stark & Parker!
The Pawfection Pack is based in London, UK and is a new monthly subscription box for your pets – both canine & feline. It caters for all dog sizes including our two little wieners. Ollie & Penny have received the ‘Double Trouble Prem’ box that caters for two dogs! Each monthly box focuses on a theme with the March box based around ‘Dumbo’ – to correspond with the new live action Disney film release.
When the box arrived both Ollie & Penny were full of excitement; honestly I do think they can tell when something is for them! The box arrived wrapped in stylish brown paper and twine with a teal ink stamp of the Pawfection Pack logo and a little tag addressed to Ollie & Penny. There was no avoiding it now – they knew it was from them!
Inside the contents were beautifully wrapped in their signature teal colour tissue and accompanied by some informative cards detailing the goodies within.
So where do we start! Well, here is a list of what we got in our March ‘Double Trouble’ box…
2 x Estella the Elephant dog toys by Beco – small
1 x Mint Scented Poopbags by Beco
1 x Denzels 3 Pack Nut Butter Chews
1 x Dermadog Tender Wash Bar
1 x Harley Bears Coco Bites packet of White Doggy Chocolate Mice
2 x Quill Bow Tie from Salt Dog Studios
1 x Packet of Peanut & Banana Bones by The Little Blue Pupcakery
As you can see there was a lot for Ollie & Penny to explore and get into so we’re not going to go into detail on them all today. I could tell straight away that Estella was gonna be a BIG hit with Penny, but we decided to delve into the treats first and test out the peanut & banana bones by the Little Blue Pupcakery. The home baked smell hit us straightaway when we opened them and Ollie was very impatient to try them out. Needless to say, he scoffed them. Paws up there!
The Denzel nut butter chews were next on our hit list. We’ve seen these treats mentioned before on social media and other pet accounts and we’ve been meaning to try them, so this was perfect. The pack contained 3 sticks, which were ideal for a trial. Ollie stepped up again. We gave them both half a stick each to se how they got on. The sticks were actually softer in texture than I expected and both Ollie & Penny devoured them without hesitation or difficulty. Another paws up for these treats!
We love how Annie & the Pawfection Pack took Ollie & Penny’s size into consideration and provided their toy in size small – just perfect for them!
The poop bags by Beco Pets and soap bar by Dermadog got a little sniff from both sausages with a subtext of “if we can’t eat or play with these then we’re not interested”. While these items may hold little immediate interest for the wieners, us hoomans feel they are great little additions to the box and will definitely come in handy and will be used!
Next we pulled out Estella. Penny was eyeing this up from the moment we opened the box and we couldn’t make her wait any longer. These Beco Toys are just fantastic. They are made from recycled plastic bottles and are very durable – even for a determined dachshund. Mine. Penny claimed Estella as hers and she was off. Never fear though as we did get two of these in the box so there is another for Ollie. We also love how Annie and the Pawfection Pack took Ollie & Penny’s size into consideration and provided this toy in small – which is the perfect size for these two!
As there are a number of products in this review we do recommend reading the back of the each treat and toy for individual instructions and feeding guidelines.
Each packet of treats has their own unique benefits and ingredient list which you obviously should check out for yourself on purchase before giving to your pet.
Ollie & Penny did receive a number of treats for this review and these were adequately spaced out over a number of days.
We all loved getting the ‘Double Trouble’ box from the Pawfection Pack – I’d say as much as Ollie & Penny did! It was full to the brim of quality brands and unique products.
Value for Money:
We all like to get value for money and that’s no exception when it comes to splurging on our pets. So lets compare the individual product prices against the box price itself to give you an idea of the value for money you can expect to get in a monthly subscription box from the Pawfection Pack.
Here’s what you got in the March ‘Double Trouble Prem’ box again:
2 x Estella the Elephant dog toys by Beco – small – £7.00 (each)
1 x Mint Scented Poopbags by Beco – £2.99
1 x Denzels 3 Pack Nut Butter Chews – £2.50
1 x Dermadog Tender Wash Bar – £13.95
1 x Harley Bears Coco Bites packet of White Doggy Chocolate Mice – £2.00
2 x Quill Bow Tie from Salt Dog Studios – £5.59 (each)
1 x Packet of Peanut & Banana Bones by The Little Blue Pupcakery – £2.50
This month the total item price for the March box is £49.12 (on average). This box price is £40 per month depending on your subscription length. So there is potential for quite a big saving every month.
If you aren’t keen on getting surprises or learning about new pet products & brands (for us that’s the best bit ), or if your dog has specific diet requirements, then maybe purchasing treats & toys that you’re used to individually would be better than a subscription service. Each to their own! But the excitement for the pooches is priceless – in our humble sausage opinion!
Overall both Ollie & Penny loved every item in their box even the ones which didn’t grab their attention straight away.
The packaging and branding (including the leaflets that came within the box) really promote the product well and are top notch too. We especially liked the extra info and tips to help with an anxious dog. While the price per box may seem a bit high for some you are paying for high quality products which are throughly researched and well worth it.
